We used to live in clean edges. Black and White. Male and Female. Light and Dark. Yin and Yang. He and She. Them and Us.
Those walls are gone.
Afro-Latino/a. LatinX. Trans. Pansexual. Fluid. Undefined. They. (Not Like). Us.
The grey, the static representation of buffering between two zones, is now represented by countless indentities. You can be anything and anyone now. Freedom is expensive, but beautiful.
But, while identity has expanded, hiearchy hasn't disappeared. It's shifted into a monoarchy. One of the most distorted versions today lives in what people call the the "Greek archetypes": Alpha, Beta are the foundation. But did you know there are four more? It isn't real Greek psychology. It isn't scientific. But it's modern language for power, insecurity, and belonging.
Ladies and Gentleman, we are living in peak Beta-fueled society.
When you search "Greek personalities alpha beta", most blogs exclusively discuss male dominance and submission. Male ego is always on trial, under a microscope ready to be chastised (Boo Hoo).
A few years ago, I created a Tik Tok series expanding on the personalities that people ignore, because in reality, Alpha and Beta are basic and only two notes in a much bigger scale. Any great song needs atleast three notes.
Me. You. Your Momma. And Your Cousin Too
We all shift between personality types depending on environment, fear, power, and awareness.
Here are how these six greek personalities/modalities typically show up in society:
- Alpha: Confident, outgoing, a charismatic leader, enterprising. A macho man, but aggressive with it.
- Beta: Friendly, reserved, loyal, collaborative. The quintessential “Nice Guy” no one wants to be. His default state? Submissive.
- Gamma: Adventurous, eager, aware, empathetic. Thinks big but can lack focus. Can be clingy in relationships.
- Sigma: Likeable and confident, but cunning and calculating. The cold assassin you didn’t see coming.
- Omega: The creature outsider. Self-reliant, prefers to remain independent of social groups or hierarchies. Driven and intelligent but has little impulse to compete or conform. Gains strength from being alone.
- Delta: Resentful, blaming, self-sabotaging. A victim of life.
I sit on a Sigma throne, perched in the middle of Times Square, able to touch anyone and be challenged by anyone. Sigmas don't perform power, they are well-mannered, methodical, and grounded. If I don't respect you, you don't get my energy. True dominance is silent, distant, and precise.

I'm reserved with phonies and ignore self-proclaimed alphas; you can have "it", because your fragile go needs the self-reassurance more than I do. But if you violate, I will pull my alpha energy out of my bag and subjugate.
Most people who scream "Alpha" are terrified Betas in disguise; loyal and submissive to titles, systems, followers, or bosses for validation. Beta energy is the quentissential circle-jerk of patting each other on the back for doing master's bidding.

The thought came to me over the past few months as I watched social culture evolve. Most leadership roles, from academia, fortune 500's, Billionaires, and politicians have bowed down and done everything to stay in the good graces of 47.

My thoughts unraveled. I watched his speech to the military chiefs, and I thought about the chain of command required to serve in the military, from Private to Commander in Chief. I thought about the National Guard being deployed into American cities to terrorize U.S. citizens. I reflected on ICE.
The economy is slowly collapsing and most people are following their bosses to the end of the rope simply to keep the income incoming, no matter how many necks they have to step on. Friend and foe.
(Note: I'm grateful for the U.S. military, thankful for every soldier who has fought and will fight and all that good stuff. Being in the military does not mean you are a Beta.)
Blind obdience is the only skill AI truly needs from us. The moment a human stops thinking and only follows instructions is the moment they become replaceable by a machine that does it faster, cleaner, and without hesitation.
The real issue isn't Alpha vs Beta. It's self-awareness vs unconscious behavior.
The Beta Problem
Softness isn't the issue. It's obedience without consciousness, forced dominance without tact or reflection. Modern Beta energy is anti Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity becauses only my "boss" matters. It's people sustaining systems they secretly hate (talking shit when someone isn't in the room). Preserving comfort over integrity. Trading awareness for safety.
And this isn't a male problem. It's a human epidemic.
Beta middle managers. Beta teammates. Betas turned into AI (Artificial Intolerants). No sense of humanity in their communication or actions. Shit, rven Artifical Intelligence develops its own personality.
Betas are supposed to be friendly, reserved, loyal, and collaborative. They are support systems and foundational pillars of a great business and society. The cashiers, executive assistants, and linebackers in the huddle protecting the QB. Betas respect the manager, captain, or owner and follow suit to support them and the overall mission.
But a Beta with no awareness is just a machine. A mouthpiece and protector of whatever structure feeds it. They don't even realize the cruel irony: In trying to survive the system, they're training their own replacements. AI isn't taking jobs. Beta behavior is handing jobs over.
The modern Beta is a toxin. Argumentative. Brash. Selective. And physically and emotionally weak. They're empowered with people close to them but quieter than a mouse with strangers who press them. They have no drive outside of their routine, minimal original creativity, and are consumed with distractions and outside influence. They are weak and since they make up the majority of society, this is where Things Fall Apart.
My Reframe of Greek Archetypes
You aren't meant to live in the grey or black or white. A fulfilled person dances in all the shades of light, adapting to energies to optimize life experiences, choices, and success.
Here's how to live and embody all the right personalities at the right time.
- Alpha: When you're defending your honor, rights, loved ones and anything sacred. Alphas are only useful as a defense mechanism from actual threats, not the ones they make up in their head.
- Beta: When someone needs your loyalty, care, or support. Love is the answer over ego! Betas are there to say "I got you!".
- Gamma: When you're traveling, learning, and exploring this world with companions. Learn to give, take and let go. Bring curiosity, questions and low-level challenges to the people, founded on growth and healing.
- Sigma: When the people around you need innovative thoughts and ideas. Sigmas bring new ideas to the table that dismantle values that are no longer needed.
- Omega: Be an Omega at the beginning and end of the day when you have zero social responsibilities. This is when you meditate, read, draw, write, stretch; anything that allows you to self-heal away from outside influence.
- Delta: Never. This is stagnation.

The true message in Fight Club is fragmentation. You should have multiple personalities that pay the bills, create social value, build comradrie and fight systems that destroy our freedom (whatever that looks like for you).
The point isn't to consider: What are you? Instead ask yourself, How aware am I of who I need to become when pressure is applied?
No box you enter should ever lock behind you.
