The Black Experience Matters began as a hashtag to reshape dialogue around the global Black Experience. Instead of nouns and sinlging out men, women, African-Americans, Jamaicans, Kenyans, etc., the Black Experience is the shared experience of being Black, based on the historical limitations placed on Blackness.
The Black Experience Matters means the decisions, time investments, monetary spending, and social conversations around Blackness matter. But it's also founded on present-day responsibility. Being aware of what's holding the Experience back is easy, but how will you contribute to self, community, and the overall healing of the Black Experience?
I only share positive, enriching, and uplfiting news. There's enough negativity, gossip, and distraction. Focus on growth.
